State Film Awards for 2008 and 2009
Orissa Government announces State Film Awards for 2008 and 2009 which
was announced by Culture Minister Prafulla Samal at Bhubaneswar on
Thursday. The film Jianta Bhoota directed by Prasant nanda sweep out the state
award in seven segment. Akas Das Nayak and Anuvhab Mohanty selected as
best actor for the year of 2008 and 2009 respectively.
Jianata Bhuta and Sata Sure Bandha A Jiban won the Mohan Sundar Dev Goswami Award for being adjudged as the best feature film for 2008 and 2009 respectively. The veteran Odia Film Director Sadhu Meher and popular actress Mahasweta Roy were selected for Prestigious Jayadev Award for life achievement for the two years — 2008 and 2009.
Jayadev Award Carries a cash award of Rs 25,000 and a citation, the best feature film would be given Rs 15,000 as prize money. At the mean time the Minister announced that the State Government decided to enhance the prize money for the Jayadev Award from present Rs 25,000 to Rs 1 lakh. Besides, the prizes would be awarded in 27 categories listed below.
